REVIEW: Haenim 7A Wireless Breast Pump

beast breast pump malaysia

To be honest, I did not hear about Korean brand Haenim till I was approach to do a review on the Haenim 7A Wireless Breast Pump. It’s been 3 months using the pump so far and I’ve not turned back.

First Impression

When I first googled and read about the Haenim 7A Breast Pump before receiving it, I was impressed by how sleek the design is, I loved the fact that it’s wireless charging and it even has an app that you can download and connect to to control the breast pump and even record important data so you can keep track of your expressed milk.

In The Box

In the box you’ll find everything you need to function and use the breast pump. Components include:

  • Pump body
  • Pump Body (CAP)
  • Bottle
  • Silicone valve
  • Shield cover
  • Bottle lid, silicone nipple and bottle disk
  • Air hose
  • Funnels (24mm, 28mm, 32mm)
  • Wireless charging Bluetooth pocket pump
  • Connector
  • USB charging wire

The Haenim 7A is a double breast pump so all parts are given to accommodate pumping both breast at the same time.

Design and features

  • I really like it’s sleek and modern design of the pump. It comes in two colours; black & white.
  • The size is compact and can easily fit into your pocket(in my case- handbag), which means that it’s quite light too!(only 215g)
  • Controls are designed as touch buttons, which can have pros and cons. I do find myself accidentally touching it which will result in a change of mode while using, but there are also times when you touch a button and it doesn’t react as well.
  • I like the fact that there is a connector that enables easy connection between the pump and the tubes.
  • The pump itself does not show a countdown or time, which I wish it did. Nonetheless, you can track your time via the app or just keep the pump on till it automatically switches off after 30 mins.

Function

  • It has 9 massage settings and 9 expression setting. I’ve only used till 7, and that’s when my breast are really full. Averagely I’m usually on mode 5 for 5 mins of massage then move on to mode 4 on the expression setting.
  • Battery Life is quite good. It lasts me the whole day with an average of 4 pumps at about 30 mins each.
  • Haenim 7A breast pump is also compatible with Freemie Cups which I use every workday while on the road.

Breastfeeding While Working A Full Time Job

When i was pregnant, i decided that i would want to breastfeed my child till the age of two. I prepped myself with all the equipments needed, ate a lot of healthy milk-boosting foods and was ready for that day to come. There were a number of reasons why i wanted to breastfeed and continue breastfeeding till the age of two such as:

  1. I heard that breastfeeding will help you get back to your original weight and maybe even lose that weight-fast cause breastfeeding burns extra calories!
  2. Breastmilk has natural antibodies that keep your baby healthy
  3. It lowers the risk of diabetes and obesity for your baby
  4. Great for babies brain and development
  5. Reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)
  6. Delayed menstruation- which means you don’t have to deal with your period too soon!(plus it’s a natural birth control too!)
  7. Save lots of money!- formula milk are so expensive these days. And what if your baby can’t take dairy? Goat’s milk is even more expensive!
  8. Breastfed babies are known to be less picky eaters too!

Who wouldn’t want all these breastfeeding benefits for you and your baby right?

But let me tell you, exclusively breastfeeding is not an easy task, especially when you’re a working mum. It is a commitment to yourself and to your baby.

The first few days in the hospital, breastfeeding didn’t seem to be a problem. Nurses were there to teach me to breastfeed the right way and provide me with all the advice i needed to persevere.

After 4 days in the hospital i finally got back home, and it felt good to be home. But that first night home turned out to be nightmare. Baby was constantly waking up crying and nothing seemed to calm him down. He developed a high temperatue and we had to go back to the hospital for a check. Turned out that baby was dehydrated and was not receiving enough milk. He had to be admitted into NICU and stay there for a few days for observation. Worst part was that i wasn’t able to stay with him at night, which led the nurse to ask me if it’s alright if they “top up” his feeding with formula. My heart dropped. i felt horrible that my body was not producing enough milk for him, i felt like a failure, but agreed that the nurses fed him formula on top of my expressed milk which i provided whenever i could.

Fashion Plus Size Tips

Breastfeeding & Plus size friendly style tips

I NEED TO GO SHOPPING! Well, every woman would probably have that urge, but for me it’s a desperate need as i look at my wardrobe and squeeze my brain on an outfit that would be breastfeeding friendly. I’ve been looking online for some outfits specifically designed for breastfeeding, but lets just say that the styles are sometimes just too boring and most of the time it doesn’t even cater to a plus size babe like me.

So where does that leave me?

Off to do some research i went on some style tips that are not too tacky yet friendly for the breastfeeding mom. Here are some tips that i personally found useful in order NOT to sacrifice my style and keep a budget to my wallet.

  1. Wear a tank or spaghetti top underneath your clothes.

I found this tip super useful as it gives me the freedom to lift up or pull aside my shirt without exposing to much skin and still give me the opportunity to wear the clothes i have in my wardrobe.
