LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is a family holiday destination that brings together a LEGOLAND Theme Park, Water Park and Hotel in one LEGO themed location. With more than 70 hands-on rides, slides, shows and attractions, and designed for families with children aged 2-12, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort has a new baby in town- SEA LIFE Malaysia!
SEA LIFE Malaysia is the first SEA LIFE to open in Malaysia and is located at the heart of Iskandar Puteri, right next to LEGOLAND Theme Park. I got a first-hand experience to look into the brand new 2,123 square-metre indoor aquarium and what an experience it has been!
Entrance is through the ground floor where you will already be greeted with some marine life and LEGO figures, but the real adventure starts on the first floor, where you’ll find yourself in a 360° view of hundreds of yellow tail fusilier swimming around you in their Shoaling Ring.
SEA LIFE Malaysia has more than 13,000 marine life, from 120 species and 11 different habitat zones in this double-storey LEGO-themed aquarium. One of our favourite areas is where we saw multiple species of seahorses, all in different shapes and colours.
We were also brought to Stingray Bay where we went on a little adventure to learn more about stingrays through magical storytelling. We loved how the storyteller was syncing her conversation with the digital display, which gave us a new and more interactive experience.
Other amazing discoveries at SEA LIFE Malaysia include special habitat zones which comprises of a Malaysian Rainforest, Ocean View and an Ocean Tunnel which provides a 180-degree view of the underwater world. There is also an Ocean Cave where visitors can take a magical dive and watch marine life up close through a concave glass.
Speaking about concave glass, there were quite a few around in different sizes and it really did gave us a close- up experience. We got especially excited when there were fishes and other sea creatures swimming up close.
Amazing Creations- which is another part of their aquarium zones, gives you the opportunity to draw and colour in your favourite sea creatures and bring them to life in a digital ocean. You can watch your creation swimming around with the other creations and you can also feed it! How cool is that?
There are quite a number of interactive elements in each of the habitat zones too, such as interactive tutorials and games, which makes the learning experience much more impactful and memorable. Overall we enjoyed all the beautiful colours and multiple photo spots, and wished it was bigger so we could spend more time there learning about marine life.
